Tony Drew:
Thanks for having me today.

Host: Okay. Tell us more because I'm not that familiar with you guys. How does or what does senior living spot do? Senior living spot is a concierge service for when the people are like you said, it's time to move from home to retirement home.

Tony Drew:
We help them find the mover, organize an advance, get rid of what they don't need any longer. As we go through life, we collect a lot. Yes. And then all of a sudden we have this house full of things. And what do we do with it? And so we help them organize, minimize, get a mover, do an estate sale and just take care of it for them.

When I think of this, when you first said that, what do we do with this stuff? I think you hand it down to your children, but your grown children have their own lives and are busy, and most of the kids that they don't want the the China, the silver, the dining room set. Nobody really wants that anymore. Yeah.

Tony Drew:
And so it's just easier for us to step in and say, what do you want to take with you? And then looking do an estate sale. A lot of times they really don't need an estate sale. We have companies that come in and they give them one price for the entire contents of the house. Wow. And even half gallon of paint in the garage goes away.
So we just we just handle it all for them.

Host: Wow, that sounds incredible. Now, what about probate sales? How do you help with that?

Tony Drew: Well, probate is a unique situation. Obviously, every sale is unique, but we do occasionally find where the home is maybe going to be tied up because the person who passed away years ago is still on the deed, or there is a will that hasn't been probated.

Tony Drew: And we can give referrals to attorneys that help them through that to make the house.

Host: What are some unique challenges that you've had to help clients with

Tony Drew: hoarders.

Host: Oh, no.

Tony Drew: We had one home it was up to here and little rabbit trails through the home. And then there were water leaks. It was all moldy. And the woman, she had dementia and her son was.

Didn't live here, came into town, saw it was a and he found a home for his mom right away. But he had to be work. Yeah. Monday in another state. And we just give us the keys and we made it all go away. Okay. So if seniors, you know, have the capacity to be able to handle it, sell their house or sell the contents or whatever it is, that's great.

Host:
And you guys can point them in that direction, but if they can't and they need full help, that is something that you guys can do. Come in and just take the reins and take care of it.

Tony Drew: Correct. Well, we hope we can do is to make a plan. Make a plan. We had a woman who was living in her home independently.

Tony Drew:
She was still doing pretty well. She had a little bit of dementia, but her kids were all over the country and they came in and we met as a group and they said, mom, probably 6 to 12 months before she's going to want to move. We needed to make some repairs to the home to make it safe to show, because there were holes in the deck, people break a leg and just some other challenges, but we just lined it all out and it's time for your mom to move.

Here's what we would do. Well, two months later, I get a call. Mom had moved. They were under under underestimated her situation and I said, great, let's put the plan in action. And they just mailed me a key and we took over. And, you know, we go over and the difference that's a lot of people can give them the resources.

The difference is we're there. We meet with like the carpet cleaner. The people doing the repair work were there. I used to be a contractor. And so when the people are there doing the work, I can be there. And like one case, the guy said, oh, I need a piece for the plumbing. I said, what do you need?

He told me I ran and got it. So you keep working and keeps the bill lower? Yeah. And so he went and did something else, and I came back, gave him the part. And the bill was much, much lower than if he'd had to spend his time going and getting it. That's incredible. Now, how are you guys from the real estate standpoint?

Host: 
How are you different from, say, other real estate agents?

Tony Drew: Well, because we do include this service in our in our package for them. We are with Berkshire Hathaway's Home Services and we're realtors and we provide services for everybody. But this is our become our special niche. And to have that service, it just helps us. You have one person instead of you have to go find a mover, find an ancient, find a company that will come in and help you sort and pack.

Tony Drew: Where am I going to go? Yeah, well, there's a multitude of companies out there where communities where you can move, what's going to fit your needs? We have people who will help them with that. You guys will do just that. Thank you so much for being here. Thank you. We appreciate it so much. Such a cool service.
